In the first half of the year 2002, Korean digital manufacturer LG Electronics has achieved a 69 percent sales increase in the optical storage devices sector throughout the Middle East and Africa. The company delivered turnover of $22 million.

Earlier this year, LGE entered the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and lower Gulf markets with two GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) products—the LG-600 and LG510W. LG Electronics is targeting a million mobile phone sales throughout the Middle East and Africa by the end of next year.

LG will be showcasing its products at a 190 square-meter stand during Gitex 2002, the information technology exhibition, which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from October 13-17. — (menareport.com)
