The first round of the public announcement of the blocks offered for investment in oil explorations across Libya was announced Saturday evening in Tripoli. It was the first public announcement to be made in this field in Libya.
According to JANA, 56 international oil companies 47 of which were operation companies, and 9 investment companies representing 28 nationalities made 104 offers.
The public announcements of the results of the first round was attended by the Secretary and assistant secretary of the General People's Committee, and several members of the administrative committee of the National Oil Corporation.
The winning companies would carry out oil explorations of 2850 km2 by three dimensional survey, 24,000 km2 of two-dimensional survey, and digging 24 exploration wells with an investment sum of US$198 million and a grant of 115 million dollars.
