Two Jordanian firms, STS Group and CCS Company, were chosen by the National Steering Committee of the HEDP to provide the infrastructure for the JordanINFO-Network operated in eight public universities.

The project includes the provision and installation of specialized application server, network switches, desktop switches, network management equipment/software, cabling, network associated equipment, software, training, and maintenance for the eight public universities. The total duration of the project was thirty weeks.

The total JordanINFO-Network infrastructure solution for improving the Inter and Intra-University networks comprises of three projects. In addition to the one at hand, namely, Infrastructure Servers Project, the total solution also includes: Network Infrastructure—which includes network switches, desktop switches, and network management equipment/software, cabling, and other network associated equipment, software, training, and maintenance—and Student/Faculty Network and PC's—which includes workgroup servers, personal computers, printers, and other associated equipment, software, training, and maintenance.

The main goal of the Infrastructure Servers' Project is to provide the eight public universities with the appropriate infrastructure to connect with each other. Thus, paving the way for the full incorporation of Information Technology (IT) benefits at all university levels.

This project's primary aim is to allow free and unrestricted learning potentials to all public university students, alike, by establishing the basis on which they can enhance their learning experiences through unobstructed connection with other communities and the world at large.

The eight public universities are: University of Jordan (UJ), Yarmouk University (YU), Mu'tah University (MU), Jordan University for Science and Technology (JUST), Al Al-Bayt University (ABU), Hashemite University (HU), Al-Hussein University (AHU), and Balqa' Applied University (BAU).
