Lundin Oil AB's subsidiary, IPC Sudan Ltd., is now testing its Thar Jath-1 well on Block 5A onshore Sudan.
Testing operations commenced within days of the inauguration of the 46.5-mile all-weather road from the base camp at Rubkona to the Thar Jath location. Testing is expected to last approximately four weeks.
Following the test, the drilling rig will relocate to the Jarayan exploration target about 8 miles south of Thar Jath. IPC Sudan Ltd.
is operator of Block 5A and holds a 40.4 percent interest. Partners include Petronas Carigali, OMW and Sudapet.
