The Saudi Minister of Industry and Electricity, Hashim Abdullah Yamani, recently disclosed official statistics according to which that 3,468 manufacturing plants currently operate throughout the Kingdom, reported Al-Hayat.
Capital investments in these plants totaled SR 240 billion ($64 billion), of which 62.5 percent—or SR 150 billion —were directed towards the chemical and plastic industries. Another SR 26 billion in building raw materials and glass, SR 24 billion in machinery and minerals and SR 17.8 billion in food industries. — (Mena Report)
