Malaysia and Bahrain intend to join forces in establishing an international Islamic money market, and plan to work together in making such a market operational, announced Bahrain’s Finance and National Economy Minister Abdulla H. Saif and International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz.
The Malaysian minister was visiting Bahrain at the head of a trade delegation.
During their meeting, Saif had expressed support for the recent application by the Malaysian Maybank to open up a branch office in Manama, Bahrain.
A statement issued by the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) said that the two ministers had also discussed ways in which bilateral trade could be encouraged.
Saif called for the early establishment of a Malaysian trade center in Bahrain to highlight Malaysian exports. – (MENA Report)
