Market value of Saudi shares up 11 percent in 2000

The Saudi Arab Monetary Association (SAMA), reported Al-Hayat newspaper, revealed that the market value of the issued shares on the Saudi Stock Exchange totaled SR 254.46 billion ($67.8 billion) by the end of 2000 compared to SR 228.59 billion ($61 billion) in 1999. These figures translate into an 11 percent growth.  

 

In addition, SAMA reported that the share price index of the Saudi Exchange closed at 2,258.29 points by the end of 2000 compared to 2,028.53 points by the end of 1999. This implies a 229.76 point rise, which is equivalent to 11.3 percent. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
