Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts has appointed Conrad Meier as General Manager of the new Radisson SAS Resort in Taba, Egypt. The new beach resort on the Red Sea in South Sinai is set to open in November.

Meier, 35, a Swiss national, will move to the Resort from the Radisson SAS Hotel in Klaipeda, Lithuania, where he has been General Manager since the year 2000.

Situated on the Sinai Riviera, 24 kilometres South of Taba, the Radisson SAS Resort offers 320 guestrooms, 124 timeshare units and 80 villas. It is built in the traditional Levantine style, combining Arabic and Mediterranean architecture. The property will boast two main restaurants, two bars, a swimming pool, 24-hour room service, a diving centre, shopping centre, health club, tennis courts and water sports.

The Resort is the second Radisson SAS property in Egypt, after the 2001 opening of Radisson SAS Golden Resort Sharm El Sheikh.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts operates eight Middle East and African properties – in Amman, Aqaba, Bahrain, Cape Town, Istanbul, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharm El Sheikh – and has six more under development in Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey, including the Taba Resort.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts currently includes 113 hotels in operation and 39 hotels under development in 37 countries and is the sole franchiser in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa for Radisson Hotels & Resorts.

Radisson Hotels & Resorts and its parent company Carlson Hospitality Worldwide includes 813 hotel and resort locations representing 137,830 guest rooms in 63 countries plus six luxury cruise ships sailing worldwide. — (menareport.com)
