Dog-handling and biometric technology will come under the spotlight when a diverse range of security industry suppliers line up at the Middle East’s first dedicated law enforcement exhibition in October.
Taking place in the secured premises of Dubai Police Academy from October 6-9, the Middle East Police and Law Enforcement Exhibition & Conference (MEPLEX) will showcase some of the world’s most advanced security specialists and man’s best friend has a starring role to play.
UK-based Top Dog Security, which specializes in dog handling and training, will use the four-day event to underline to senior representatives of Middle East police forces the value of operational dog units. During MEPLEX the company will hold live demonstrations of explosives and narcotics detection dogs at work as well as other forms of crime prevention utilizing canine assistance.
Biometric technology specialists Selectamark from the UK will introduce the Selectamark Sentry, a system using advanced fingerprint detection to authenticate individuals for access to secure sites and for identification purposes.
Another UK company, ISG Thermal Systems, will display its range of thermal image cameras, which give law enforcement operators magnified and night-viewing capacities.
Joining the international line-up of exhibitors is Dubai-based Britam Defence Ltd, which provides customized training and security solutions. The company’s consultancies include analysis to establish training aims to meet a client’s operational requirements and input into equipment procurement.
Oman-based GlassTec will use MEPLEX to showcase its safety and security films, which, when applied to glass, greatly reduces the chances of breakage from explosions or ballistic attack.
Police and law enforcement officials at MEPLEX will also be able to view the latest in security holograms, curfew monitoring systems, surveillance equipment and technology, anti-cybercrime software applications, and vehicles designed for advanced police driving. — (menareport.com)
