Mercedes Middle East sales up 12 percent

Mercedes Benz automobile company experienced a 12 percent increase in sales throughout the region during the first half of 2000 and compared with the corresponding period of last year, reported Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal magazine. Moreover, to meet the rising regional demands, the company has recently opened new auto galleries in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia. 

 

The Saudi Public Transportation Company has signed a $50 million deal with Mercedes, by which it will receive 300 O-560 model buses. Each of these buses has a passenger capacity of 55. The company also offered the modern ACTROSS trucks to the Saudis.  

 

In addition, the Dubai Police Authority received 55 E280 petrol vehicles from Mercedes. The Mercedes representatives asserted that their company is eager to further cooperation with the Emirates. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
