Metito and Target win $20 million sewerage project in Oman

Wastewater manager Metito and Target Oman have won an eight million Omani rial ($20 million) contract to provide a sewerage system for the residents of Ibra Town in the Sultanate. Treated water from the plants will be used for irrigation purposes. 

 

The project is being undertaken on behalf of the Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources and will the see construction of a sewerage network and the modernization of an existing sewage treatment plant in Ibra.  

 

Work on the project commenced in October and the scheme will have the capacity to handle the city’s current requirements and future growth. The sewerage network will involve the laying of 78 kilometers of GRP, HDPE and uPVC pipelines, and it is anticipated that the project will be completed and fully operational by April 2005.  

 

Metito currently manages its European, Asian and African operations from its regional headquarters in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and has a factory and laboratory facility in the Hamriya Free Zone with project management capabilities to undertake projects worldwide. — (menareport.com)
