Metito, the international water treatment, desalination and wastewater treatment expert, has won a Dh1.98 million contract for constructing an environment-friendly sewage treatment plant at the housing complex within the Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah.
Once complete, the new plant will be equipped to treat all sewage and wastewater within the complex. This vital infrastructure project will bring long-term benefits to the residents and investors of the Free Zone complex. With the help of the modern and environment-friendly sewerage system, the treated water will be later used for irrigation and landscaping.
Expressing his views, Mahmoud Kabeel, Plant Sales Manager of Metito in Dubai, Northern Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, said: “This is a very prestigious project and we have the opportunity to apply our world-class expertise and environment-friendly systems to the Hamriyah Free Zone Housing Complex. The projects executed by Metito have delivered long-term environmental and economical benefits -- they eliminate the soaring costs associated with discharge of raw sewage by tankers from septic tanks, besides the related health benefits.”
The scope of the Metito contract includes design, supply and installation of a state-of-the-art sewage treatment plant constructed on a turn-key basis as part of the infrastructure development in the Free Zone; and handing the completed project to the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority. Key features of the packaged sewage treatment plant include a capacity to treat up to 500 cubic meters of waste per day.
