The US computer giant Microsoft on Wednesday, July 18, donated $50 million and 80 computers to Algeria aimed at boosting professional training in the North African country, officials said.
Microsoft's chief for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Michel Lacombe, announced the grant, saying that he had signed a partnership accord with Professional Training Minister Karim Younes to improve computer literacy in Algeria.
Some 200 teachers will be trained under the program, and multimedia centers will be set up. ― (AFP, Algiers)
