Microsoft recently announced that the company’s Gulf subsidiary recorded a half yearly sales growth of 26 percent in 2001, while the subsidiary’s services division increased its business by a record 87 percent, confirmed a press release.
“Our partner community in the region has grown to over 4,000, while our product and product version portfolio has grown to over 2000. To support this growth, we now have eight local offices across the region.”
Microsoft opened its Dubai-based Middle East headquarters office in 1991, which now oversees operations in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as well as Yemen and Pakistan, while Microsoft Egypt oversees operations in the East Mediterranean region. In the last 10 years, Microsoft has opened local offices in Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Pakistan and Oman. — (menareport.com)
