Emirates Media and Dubai Internet City have announced that Microsoft is one of the three key sponsors of the Arab ICT Summit, which will be held in Dubai on October 12. Microsoft will act as a lead sponsor of the event, which is being held under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Defense Minister.
The landmark Summit will be the first of its kind and will bring together ministers, high-level government officials and business leaders from the Arab world's information and communication technology (ICT) industry.
More than 250 high-profile delegates from over 20 Arab countries are expected to take part in the Summit. The 19 distinguished speakers at the Summit will include ministers from the Arab World as well as high-level government officials and prominent business leaders.
Issues to be discussed at the summit include state policies that enhance the ICT revolution, the development of infrastructure, the development of human capital, E-government initiatives and the development of an Arab presence on the Internet. The E-government session will be moderated by Microsoft, and will include speeches from Director of E-government in Qatar, Ahmed Al Mohanadi, and CEO of IT Ventures, Hisham al Sharif.
Dubai Internet City (DIC) provides a Knowledge Economy Ecosystem that is designed to support the business development of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) companies. It is the Middle East's biggest IT infrastructure, built inside a free trade zone.
