Middle East AirportXchange (MAX), the company that operates the region's first E-Marketplace for the airports community in the Middle East and Africa, announced recently that it has entered into an agreement with the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation to post exclusive information about all tenders related to Dubai International Airport on its portal, thus offering companies wishing to bid for a tender a one-stop point for information.

In addition, MAX will be running the "General Pre-qualifications" for the selection of outstanding suppliers that meet DCA's requirements of quality and expertise. The general pre-qualification will lead to the creation by MAX of a database of selected suppliers who will be eligible to participate in tenders for various projects at the airport.

In the last eight months, MAX already has exclusive responsibility for running the pre-qualification of suppliers for expansion projects at Dubai International Airport. Pre-qualification is a procedure authorized by the Department of Civil Aviation to allow the MAX portal to register as many companies as possible to participate in the Dubai Airport expansion projects. The Department will shortlist companies from that list to choose the most suitable and capable ones.

MAX has positioned the portal as an interactive platform to facilitate networking among airport managements and suppliers, thus creating a virtual marketplace for airport industry players. The B2B portal offers a unique opportunity for suppliers to expand their businesses by keeping themselves informed about developments, while airport managements are provided with a ready-made view of the suppliers' offerings.

The portal, which is powered by the US-based company airportxchange.com with offices in Asia Europe, America and the Gulf, is the main incubator of the airports community providing knowledge exchange tools, expertise sharing, product evaluation, seminars organization and arranging for mutual visits between airports. It also plans to provide virtual exhibitions for suppliers where a company's references, products and brochures can be exhibited online.

The portal will also host auctions of airport products, which allows registered members to auction and sell their products. Members are free to choose the kind of products that they would like to auction and can impose certain conditions. Another service from will be a virtual exhibition where a company's profile, products and brochures can be exhibited online, to be viewed by airports and specialized companies. — (menareport.com)
