The corporate conference sector has shone particularly brightly in the Middle East since its humble origins. Jessica Sutherland, general manager of the Institute for International Research (IIR) in Dubai, reveals that in 1993 the company staged 12 conferences in Dubai, while this year the tally will top 300.

And from 430 delegates a decade ago, IIR's conferences now host more than 4,000 a year. Year-on-year conference growth is 240 percent, Sutherland said. "No matter which way you look at it, the growth is staggering, but we were always confident and committed to the market," says Sutherland. — (menareport.com)
