University students from the Middle East region are being invited to take part in an international scientific competition on innovation and innovative ideas, organized by German car manufacturer BMW Group.
"This is the seventh competition of its kind, and this year we would like to see a strong Arab representation in this global scientific challenge. We know that there is a wealth of creativity and innovation in the Arab world. Sciences such as Algebra and Astronomy were invented by Arabs, and we hope that this competition would bring out the best of the young creative minds in the region," said Ehab Shouly, regional marketing manager at BMW Group Middle East.
The Scientific Award BMW Group 2003 is being held under the theme "Passion for Innovation". BMW Group is offering prizes worth a total of Euro 70,000 to the best entries.
To enter, the graduate researchers and young scientists must submit their dissertations, MBA studies or doctoral theses with a "Passion for Innovation"; the works must have been completed between 1 January 2001 and 28 February 2003. The final date for submission of the outline, CV and participation declaration signed by the appropriate departmental professor is 10 March 2003.
An international jury made up of representatives from universities, science, business and industry will assess and select the works submitted according to the criteria of "thematic relevance", "level of innovation", "usefulness to society and the environment" and "economic viability". The awards will be presented to the winners of the Scientific Award BMW Group in November 2003. — (menareport.com)
