MobileCom has recently announced it will become the first GSM operator to offer its customers complete roaming service throughout Syria, starting October 4. MobileCom is now providing roaming services to its customers in 69 countries and 125 operators.

Having launched its first GSM network approximately six month’s ago, Syria’s first roaming service with an international operator has been launched with MobileCom through Syrian operator Spacetel.

"Providing roaming services to our customers in neighboring countries is a necessity as many Jordanians travel throughout the region on a regular basis and Syria is considered one of the most visited countries... We want to ensure that our customers are able to depend on their MobileCom lines when traveling overseas regardless of where they go," said Yanal Mufti, communications manager at MobileCom.

MobileCom is the Jordanian public mobile telephone network operator, and is the operator of the mobile communications license granted to Jordan Telecom. The company launched its full public service in Jordan last September. — (Mena Report)
