Moroccan customs cleared 43.2 percent less second hand cars in 2001, reaching 14,530 units compared with 25,584 from the previous year. The number of new cars cleared increased by 22.5 percent during the same period from 17,326 in 2000 to 21,228 in 2001, reported the nation’s Administration of Customs and Direct Taxes (ADII).
Some 16.4 percent of the used cars were cleared at the Casablanca crossing, 12.1 percent were cleared at Nador, nine percent at Tangier and 9.4 percent in Oujda, of which 85.1 percent were more than five years old. — (menareport.com)
