Moroccan fish exports reached $850 million in 2001

Morocco’s fishery sector produced one million tons of fish last year, a 20 percent increase compared to figures from 2001 and a five-year output record, reported the nation’s Fisheries Ministry. Fish exports reached $850 million representing 58 percent of the country's food product exports. 

 

Exports of sea products generated $909 million in 2001, with a production of one million tons. Exports of fresh fish increased by 41 percent, while canned fish, fish oil and flour increased respectively by 14 percent and 200 percent during the same period. — (menareport.com)
