Reserves at Morocco's Central Bank (Bank Al-Maghrib) reached DH52.65 billion ($5.01 billion) in 2000, a drop of 10.6 percent compared to 1999, reported the Maghreb Arab Presse MAP.
Despite the sharp fall, the reserves are still enough to cover six months of imports, said the agency. Meanwhile, the bank said that Morocco’s foreign assets reached $5.96 billion at the end of November 1999, relative to $4.2 billion in November 1998 – (Albawaba-MEBG)
