The Moroccan Royal Airways has recently signed contracts to procure 24 new Boeing Airplanes valued at $1.2 billion, according to Al-Hayat newspaper. The number of passengers carried by the Moroccan national air-carrier hit 3.7 million passengers this year.

Moroccan Royal Airways announced that it had spent 1.1 billion Moroccan dinars on kerosene purchases last year, which was equivalent to 15-20 percent of the corporation’s total expenditures.

This year, the Moroccan national air-carrier is anticipating operating losses because of the rising international fuel prices. In 1999, the corporation posted a net operating income of more than $50 million because of the relatively low oil prices. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
