The Moroccan government is targeting up to $2.5 billion in tourism revenues for 2002. To achieve this goal, Moroccan authorities have recently granted substantial incentives to investors in tourism including free land, low taxes and fees, reported Al-Hayat . Morocco is targeting 10 million tourists by 2010. To offset the drop in numbers of arriving tourists from certain foreign destinations including the United States, Moroccan authorities are making efforts to attract Arab tourists. Last year, 120,000 American tourists visited Morocco. — (menareport.com)
