Muraspec, the largest wallcoverings supplier in the Middle East, has registered a 23 per cent year-on-year increase in turnover for the first six months of 2004. This leaves the company on course to increase its business by up to 30 per cent by 2006.
The prediction of a 30 per cent increase was made in March this year, as Muraspec launched the Muraselector, a revolutionary new design tool, to Saudi Arabia, where it leads the market with a 35 per cent share.
Chris Williams, Muraspec’s sales and marketing director, attributes the growth to a re-evaluation of the company’s operations in order to stimulate the growth of the sector as a whole.
He said: “For the last two years, we have been looking to change the brand’s positioning in the market by stimulating industry growth for the first time in over a decade. Key to this was an assumed lack of innovation in the industry and a decline in the sector overall.
“We believe that the Muraselector design tool, and other initiatives such as our new medium-sized Easy Hang wallcovering width, have helped revive interest in wallcoverings as a decoration medium.” (menareport.com)
