ASPGulf and Borderware continue their efforts to combat the barrage of viruses, spam and malicious content that plague the world email community. Since Borderware released its MXtreme® Mail Firewall to the Gulf region just 12 months ago, the number of mail boxes being protected to date through the ASP partnership has recently surpassed 30,000.
ASPGulf have introduced a new dimension to accessing the features and benefits of the MXtreme® Mail Firewall, enabling small to medium sized organizations the full advantage of an enterprise solution at a fraction of the cost.
The entry level MXtreme® Mail Firewall is designed to typically manage an email environment of around 10,000 messages per hour. Small organizations with a relatively low number of mailboxes find it particularly challenging to justify the capital expenditure.
“Since the launch of our email security service, we have had a steady flow of customers subscribing to the service with amazing results,” said Dean Polley, General Manager of ASPGulf. “We are currently processing just over 1.7 million messages a month, of which approx 67% are filtered out as either spam, viruses, malformed messages or dropped messages,” Polley added.
“Borderware positions itself in the enterprise and carrier level space with a number of high level clients in key regions of the world throughout specific market segments” stated Dean Bell, Regional Director of Borderware Technologies Inc. “The relationship with ASPGulf allows the continuation of our channel based strategy in the region, targeting large accounts in the main verticals while engaging a model that allows smaller companies to take advantage of enterprise level security with the benefit of an ASP model. This also avoids additional competition within the channel,” he continued.
Bell added: “Exceeding 30,000 mail boxes throughout the SMB space is a key milestone that has exceeded all expectations within the ASPGulf relationship. From what was initially a market awareness campaign to help build the brand to where we are today is a significant step that brings value to the proposition offered by ASPGulf to their clients along with brand awareness and an additional revenue stream to Borderware in the region. After testing the water initially in the UAE and extending it to select regional markets, we intend to support ASPGulf in their expansion into other key strategic markets over the coming 12 months.”
