The number of operating companies at the Sharjah (UAE) Saif Zone has hit 450 within a five-year period. Khaleej Times reported that a new foodstuff company, Nair International FZC, is the most recent firm to open an office in the Saif Zone.
Nair International is the exclusive agent of more than 40 food products from five multinationals. Its annual turnover exceeds $10 million and its clients include armies, shopping malls and hotels. During an interview with Khaleej Times, Mr. Erik Jan Groenewegen, export manager of Nair International stated that the company would establish an assembly unit and logistics support services inside the Saif Zone. According to Mr. Jan Groenewegen, Nair International has already invested over $5 million in the Middle East region, and plans to double this capital.
