NBAD formulates CSR policy

As the UAE’s number one Bank, both in terms of profitability and Business Excellence, National Bank of Abu Dhabi formulated its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy during 2004 and developed strategic objectives to ensure its successful implementation as a part of its 5-year plan.

 

Decision to participate in Environment 2005-Exhibition & Conference was taken in accordance with the CSR policy and broader objectives of acting as a role model for the local business community.

 

Environmental Preservation and Conservation is given great importance at National Bank of Abu Dhabi. Numerous internal and external initiatives are in place/ under planning to enhance awareness levels amongst its 2000 strong workforce and extensive customer base.

 

National Bank of Abu Dhabi was the first Bank in UAE to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Environmental Research and Wildlife Development Agency (ERWDA) in 2003. An active member of Emirates Environment Group, National Bank of Abu Dhabi participates in beach cleanup, can collection, paper recycling and other environmental campaigns, regularly.

 

Internally, all used paper is collected and recycled for future use. To date over 25,000 kilograms of paper has been recycled by the Bank. Environmental articles and news of interest is regularly published in the Bank’s internal publication, Intranet and Internet.

 

National Bank of Abu Dhabi will continue to act as good corporate citizen and engage its stakeholders in effective implementation of its CSR objectives.
