National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) will participate in the 'e-Bank 2002' conference scheduled in Dubai from 21 to 24 September 2002, highlighting its e-strategic initiatives in the financial sector.

Golnar Mahmoudi, head of e-business department at NBK, will present the bank's suite of e-services and how they have been positioned with customers. These include nbk.com, online banking, online brokerage and wireless banking. The presentation will also highlight NBK's marketing and positioning strategies to effectively use the e-channel to build and maintain relationships with customers.

“At NBK our strategy is to capitalize on the capabilities of the e-channel to create value for customers”, says Golnar. She stresses that this means using this channel to effectively cross sell to existing customers and acquire prospects. In line with this, personalizing the web experience is of key importance.

NBK's online banking service, Watani Online, was the first online banking service in Kuwait and continues to be the leading online banking site in Kuwait. With over 60,000 customers and 1.5 million transactions, NBK continues to lead in this space. Besides the transfer, bill payment and account information, NBK now uses this channel to cross sell products and services to existing NBK customers.

“Our SMS service, NBK Mobile, has also been integrated with our core customer system enabling us to send targeted marketing and banking information to customers. We currently have a base of over 20,000 customers who received targeted banking and non-banking information,” concludes Golnar. — (menareport.com)
