The inauguration of the massive 55,000 square foot third party logistics facility, Bridgeway Shipping, recently took place in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), while plans were announced for the further expansion of the zone with an addition of a 200,000 square foot facility at some point in the future.
The new facility of Bridgeway Shipping, the logistics arm of Bridgeway Group, was inaugurated by Ali Khalifa Ali Beyat and P V Abdul Wahab, Managing Director of Bridgeway Group, according to Khaleej Times.
Abdul Wahab stated that the division would soon move into its next phase of expansion in order to achieve the planned future growth for the zone.
The new facility, which lies not far from the mega terminal which is currently under construction, is equipped with the latest software, CCTVs, handling equipment and trained staff, while its warehouse management system incorporates the latest technologies.
The Jebel Ali Port is the 11th largest port in the world currently. The Jebel Ali Free Zone surrounds the port, providing companies with the necessary tools to establish and operate in the most efficient manner possible. More than 4,000 businesses from over 100 countries, including over 140 Fortune Global 500 companies are located within the zone.
