The Lebanese Industrialists Association (LIA) inaugurated a 4-storey building at the Port Authority of Beirut that is intended to be a promotion center for Lebanese exports. The space will be used as a one-stop promotion and exhibition center of all products made in Lebanon for the local consumer and foreign delegations. It will provide export market data while reducing the costs of business representation and marketing costs.
Facilities will include an information and business center with Internet access, on-line product promotions and access to in-house embassies commercial sections. LIA is hoping the center will increase exports by 50 to 60 percent and said the center will be operational within three months.
Although located in the port free zone, it will be separate from the free zone. The state-run port offered the 9,000 square meter building and parking lot to the LIA, which turned it into a permanent exhibition center at a cost of about $1.5 million. — (Lebanon Invest)
