New Director Elected To Investcorp Board

Investcorp, the asset management firm specializing in alternative investments, announced today that a new Director, Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Mazrui has been elected to its Board.

The Investcorp Chairman, His Excellency Abdul-Rahman Salim Al-Ateeqi, welcomed Mr. Mazrui to the Investcorp Board: “We are delighted to be joined by such an eminent figure from the corporate and financial world. Mr Mazrui brings invaluable experience and knowledge to our Board which plays an important role in leading, guiding and supporting this Firm”.

Investcorp’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Nemir Kirdar, also welcomed the new Director:  “The addition of such a distinguished gentleman to our Board comes at a time of increasing momentum for this Firm. As evidenced by the recent announcement of a record net profit for Investcorp’s fiscal year ended June 30, 2006, we achieved solid performance and growth in all product areas. This demonstrates the enduring strength of this institution.”

Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Mazrui is Chairman of Emirates Insurance Company, Mazrui Holding Company and The National Investor. He is also Chairman of the International School of Choueifat in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Securities LLC, Arab International Logistics Company (Aramex), Jashanmal National Company, Depa United Group, Saudi Formaldehyde Chemical Co. Ltd., and Modern Décor & Wood Products Manufacturing Co. Ltd.

Mr. Mazrui is also a Director of the National Investment Corporation, Dun & Bradstreet, Abu Dhabi Education Council, Abu Dhabi Economic Council and Emirates Specialities Co.

Mr Mazrui has also been Managing Director and Chief Executive at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi and a Committee Member of the Currency Board (Central Bank) of the UAE as well as Deputy Chairman at Etisalat and a Member of Arab Bankers Association, London.
