New figures have been released on bilateral trade between Spain and Morocco by the Moroccan statistical office. Trade reached 17 billion dirhams in the first semester of 2004, according to the leading Moroccan economics newspaper, as opposed to almost 32 billion dirhams for all the year of 2003.
At the end of the first semester of 2004, Moroccan exports totalled 7,59 billion dirhams and imports stabilized at 9,47 billion, meaning a balance of trade of 1,88 billion Moroccan dirhams for Spain. Principal exports are clothes.
