The Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) reported that a new 1,200-kilometer gas pipeline extending from Shedkem to Yanbu will become fully operational by late 2003. The pipeline will initially carry 300 million cubic feet of natural gas per day with a gradual increase to one billion cubic feet in the future, reported Al-Riyadh . The gas will be used as a substitute for ethane gas fuel in local petrochemical manufacturing projects. — (menareport.com)
