Work will start during 2006 on the first phase of a BD5 million project to renovate the Manama suq. According to The GDN, the contract for the project is due to be awarded in February.
The first phase includes the demolition and reconstruction of government buildings - including the police station and post office - and the beautification of building fronts between Bab Al Bahrain and Shaikh Abdulla Road.
