New oil-gas find in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arania's national oil company Aramco announced Tuesday, November 20 the discovery of new oil and gas field in the kingdom's Eastern Province.  

 

"Production capacity will be 1,100 barrels of oil and 1.6 million cubic feet (48,000 cubic meters) of gas a day, according to initial estimates," Oil Minister Ali Al-Nuaimi was quoted as saying by the official Saudi Press Agency

 

Exploration work at the Jafin 1 field, located 240 kilometers southeast of Riyadh and 14 kilometres east of the giant Al-Ghawar field, has been going on since June, Nuaimi said. 

 

Saudi Arabia sits on the world's biggest oil reserves with an estimated 261 billion barrels and has proven natural gas reserves of 220 trillion cubic feet (6.6 trillion cubic meters), according to AFP. — (menareport.com)
