The Ministry of Information has announced that it has completed a successful raid against a computer reseller in Kuwait, where a computer was found loaded with illegal software and seized by the Ministry's Intellectual Property enforcement officers. This raid comes as part of a series of raids that are planned against resellers who have been reported to be indulging in sales of counterfeit computer software in Kuwait.
“We have been given a list of alleged perpetrators of illegal software sales,” said Director of the Intellectual property department at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information, Sheikha Rasha Al-Sabah, “we are currently verifying the information, and each reseller on this list will be raided if we have reason to believe that he is selling illegal software. Thus, we clearly ask all of those still selling pirated software to cease these activities immediately and for good to avoid enforcement and legal action against them”.
This list is provided by resellers of original computer applications whose business suffers from some of their counterparts' unethical business practices.
