New legislation for investment funds was discussed at a meeting on Monday in Dubai attended by the Central Bank Governor Sultan Nasser Al Suwaidi and Economy Minister Shaikha Lubna Al Qassimi.
Also on the meeting's agenda was IPO financing by banks and establishing a legal framework for investment funds, according to Reuters quoting WAM.
"The meeting further stressed the need for a review of IPO financing by the banks," a statement said.
Measures have been taken to minimize the effect of IPOs on the stock market and to discourage simultaneous IPOs in the future.
