Plans for the 19-million square foot Phase II development of ‘Dubai Healthcare City’ were unveiled on Saturday by officials. Phase II of the project, located on Dubai Creek near Al Wasl Hospital on Oud Metha Road, will reportedly require an investment of Dh4 billion.
Tatweer, a unit of Dubai Holding, manages Healthcare City, a one-of-a-kind healthcare project which will include a variety of health services for residents of Dubai.
Six zones reportedly comprise the upcoming Phase II according to Gulf News: the Clinical zone, Healthcare Mixed Use zone, the Long-Term Care, zone Spa Resorts, Canal Residence and Town Center and Clinical Villas, which will be comprised of two-storey villas on lease offering complementary clinics with high-tech provisions.
Hospitals, outpatient clinics and a five-star hotel will be located in the Clinical Zone, while its medical colleges will offer post-graduate study-programs in nursing, dentistry, nutrition and physiotherapy.
Medical students and faculty will have the option of residing at the Canal Residence and Town Center waterfront residential properties.
Medical equipment firms, insurance firms, pharmaceutical companies and medical suppliers will be located in the Mixed Use zone, while nursing homes, post-trauma rehabilitation centers, and terminally-ill medical care facilities will be in the Long-Term Care zone.
