ALBAWABA - Following the lawsuit implemented by Nintendo on the beloved Switch emulator Yuzu, the platform is officially dead as fans are currently met with a message from its developers saying that it's over when they visit the website.

Moreover, both Citra and a 3DS emulator emulator are being pulled out and shut down to further account for the damage caused, as reported by XDA Developers.

In our eyes, the whole point of Yuzu wasn't piracy but how it excellently allowed Nintendo Switch gamers to experience their games in a higher resolution, better graphics fidelity, and a higher FPS as the console is currently considered out of date since games like the recent Pokemon struggle to run properly.

The message says:

"Hello, Yuz-ers and Citra fans:

We write today to inform you that Yuzu and Yuzu’s support of Citra is being discontinued, effective immediately."

Yuzu's team then added that they have always been against piracy and that it was never their intention in the first place since the platform was made for their love of Nintendo and its games.

They added, "But we see now that because our projects can circumvent Nintendo’s technological protection measures and allow users to play games outside of authorized hardware, they have led to extensive piracy".

The developers decided that they "cannot continue to allow this to occur" and that they would be "pulling their code repositories offline, discontinuing our Patreon accounts and Discord servers, and, soon, shutting down our websites".

According to XDA developers,  Yuzu settled the case for $2.4 million by taking down its Patreon, websites, and all official distribution channels for the emulator.

Yuzu developers also took to their official X (formerly Twitter) account to deliver the message to its fans and users:

Nintendo is known for having strict regulations towards their titles and consoles and Yuzu is an example of that. The Japanese tech giant naturally caused quite a stir across social media platforms including YouTube and X with many YouTubers such as Some Ordinary Gamers judging Nintendo by making three videos about the matter.
