Noble Affiliates, Inc. announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Samedan, Mediterranean Sea, Inc., and its partners have been selected by Israeli Electric Corp.

to supply approximately 170 million cubic feet of natural gas per day for use in IEC's power plants.

Over the past year, IEC has conducted a competitive process to select natural gas suppliers for its power plants that currently use fuel oil and diesel.

In January 2001, IEC announced that one of the suppliers would be East Mediterranean Gas, providing gas from Egypt.

On Monday, March 12, 2001, IEC said the Noble-led group would be the second supplier of a similar quantity.

The Noble group's gas will be produced from its Mari-B and Noa discoveries offshore Israel. Noble is currently drilling a development well at Mari-B. Interim results indicate that high-quality pay sands are present as predicted by seismic studies.
