Non- Jordanian investments in Jordan stocks decrease in 2000

According to the News Letter published by the Amman Stock Exchange, the net investments by non-Jordanian investors in the kingdom decreased in 2000, reaching a total of JD 5.8 million, compared to JD 10 million for the same period last year. During the month of August alone, non-Jordanian investments decreased by JD 7.4 million.  

 

At the end of August this year, the shares owned by these investors accounted for 41.9 percent of the Amman Stock Exchange capitalization, divided between Arab investors (36 percent) and non-Arabs (5.9 percent). The value of shares sold by non-Jordanians was JD 8.6 million, with 64 of these sold by non-Arabs. On the other hand, the shares purchased by non-Jordanians in August reached JD 1.2 million, with Arabs accounting for 84.8 percent of these acquisitions. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
