The New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) on Saadiyat Island, hosted the United Arab Emirates Minister of State, His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh as a guest speaker for the academic scholars of the Sheikh Zayed Scholars Program (SMSP) on 14th April 2019.

SMSP Program Director, Diane Yu, invited His Excellency to engage with the talented scholars, who are the top students of three national UAE universities; namely, Higher Colleges of Technology, the United Arab Emirates University, and Zayed University. These second/final year students have a record of accomplishments and demonstrate leadership potential among other necessary skills that have qualified them for this distinguished scholar program. The program enables students access to lectures, networking, specially designed courses and more.

H.E Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh was once the Head of Media Bureau at the Presidential Court and accompanied the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for decades. Using his personal history, His Excellency guided an informative and insightful discussion with twenty-three SMSP scholars, Diane Yu, and Senior Director of the SMSP, Jennifer Gerrard. Transporting the audience on a visual PowerPoint presentation journey, His Excellency described the time he spent with the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, and outlined the many remarkable qualities, achievements, and examples that qualified Sheikh Zayed to become one of the greatest and most respected leaders in history. The fortunate scholars were prompted to engage in a question and answer forum that allowed them specialized in-depth answers from His Excellency.
