Odyssey Resources has reported that diamond drilling at the company's Altintepe Gold Project in Turkey has uncovered an oxidized gold zone at Karakis ridge. Initial Karakis Zone drilling returned 2.2 grams of gold per metric ton (g/t).

Odyssey is earning a 100 percent interest in the Altintepe project from Teck Cominco. Karakis is a prominent ridge over one kilometer long in the western portion of the 100 square kilometer Altintepe property.

Previous drilling at 2G by Teck Cominco and Odyssey has outlined an indicated oxide gold resource of 71,781 ounces, with a further 154,198 ounces in the inferred category. The exposed top of the 2G zone is at an elevation of 525 meters above sea level.

Given the silicified nature of gold mineralization at Karakis, Odyssey geologists consider the entire Karakis ridge as a prospective host for gold mineralization. Once all assay data are received and compiled, Odyssey will prepare a comprehensive drill plan to test the full lateral and vertical extent of this new discovery. — (menareport.com)
