The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has announced it intention of establishing a Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi.
"The Institute intends to be recognized in the world community as a first class regional center of learning, committed to the stewardship of the earth and its precious natural resources," Adnoc said in a statement.
Other companies involved with Adnoc in the venture include BP, JODCO and Shell.
Undergraduate subjects to be provided at the Petroleum Institute include Petroleum Geoscience Engineering, Chemical, Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering, and Instrumentation and Control Engineering. At a later date, post-graduate research programs will be offered.
Assisting Adnoc in setting up the institute is the well-respected Colorado School of Mines, which is based in Golden, Colorado. – (Albawaba-MEBG)
