Crude oil prices jumped Wednesday to a new post-Gulf War high, topping 37 dollars a barrel in New York.The price of light sweet crude rose 69 cents from Tuesday to 37.20 a barrel, the highest level since the 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
In London earlier, the benchmark Brent North Sea crude oil for November delivery rose by over a dollar to 34.81 dollars a barrel before falling back to 34.44 dollars in afternoon trading, against 33.63 dollars at the close on Tuesday.—AFP.
