Oman's Al Hassan Engineering Co. SAOG have received from the major Contractor Petrofac a Letter of Intent (LoI) covering Civil, Mech., Piping , E&I construction works for the Kauther Gas Project for PDO. The job value is US$ 47 Millions with a programme duration of 30 months from the effective date of the contract which is August 27th, 2009.
The Kauther Gas Plant was inaugurated earlier this year. It can process up to 20 million cubic metres per day of gas destined for the Omani market. The gas is collected via a gathering system involving lengthy bulk lines, 3 remote manifolds and over 40 kms of flow-lines hooked up to 14 production wells. The Kauther field was discovered in 2001.
