Oman’s National Tender Board recently awarded five tenders worth a total of 24.5 million Omani rials ($63.5 million), reported ONA. The tenders included a project to build a new port in the province of Musandam, the modernization of a transformer station in Al-Hail and the upgrade of the local GSM Hayyak prepaid card system. The remaining two tenders provide educational resources and furniture to schools.
Members of the board also discussed a number of future initiatives including the expansion of the Ja'alan Bani Bu Ali Hospital and the establishment of a fish-raising center in the province of Saham.
The Tender Board was established in 1973 and ensures the fair and equitable allocation of contracts. The board is responsible for all government tenders with the exception of contracts and projects related to defense and security. — (menareport.com)
