Official figures have indicated that subscribers of the fixed phone in Oman's various regions and governorates amounted to 240,054 at the end of April 2005, compared to 239,262 during the corresponding period in 2004, constituting a 0.3% rise.
The statistical bulletin issued by the National Economy Ministry indicated that the number of internet service subscribers rose by 3.1% at the end of April 2005 to reach 50,150, compared to 48,657 at the end of April 2004.
