According to the September 7, 2005 edition of Al-Khaleej newspaper, an official report estimated the real estate trading activities in the Sultanate of Oman at OR 46.4 million last July. This trade volume included OR 17.7 million sale contracts, OR 570,200 offset contracts and OR 28.1 million mortgage contracts. The report also shows that 4,659 new plots were registered for the first time in the same month. The report also estimated at 105 the total number of the Gulf investors, who owned real estate assets in the Sultanate in the same month. The fees collected from these trading activities totaled OR 963,693.
